Busy Weekend

On Saturday Scott had to work at the bank until 12:00 noon. Then he ran a few errands after that. By the time he got home, we decided we'd run up to the Twin Cities to see Aunt Erin and Vern and the new baby, Hunter. So it's official: I'm an aunt! The kids travelled pretty well, but it was a long day for them. Little sleep and lots of activity. So we got up to their house and got to meet baby Hunter (sorry, no pictures!). The kids just kind of looked at him like, oh, that's nice, and then went on with their playing. As we were leaving and gathering up the kids to get into the van, Olivia very politely informed me that we were NOT taking baby Hunter home with us. As if... It was kind of funny!

Then today we spent lots of time outside. It was about 90 degrees here this afternoon. Poor little Maddie did not appreciate the heat so much, so she spent a lot of the day just hanging out in her bed playing quietly. It surprised me that she was so content in there - but I think that's where she was the most comfortable! Livi and Zach played pretty hard though. Livi and I had to make a Wal-Mart run, so Zach and Daddy decided to mow the front lawn while we were shopping. By the time we got home, Zach was taking a nap - and didn't wake up for about 4 hours! After that, back outside: the kids played in the sandbox, in their playhouse, and swings and slide. A full day.

This weekend Zach discovered the movie Cars. He is just absolutely mesmerized by this movie, and it's actually pretty good. And Livi cannot get enough of Nanny McPhee, which I absolutely love watching, too! So in between playing outside and naps, we cooled down with a couple of movies.

Livi and Maddie

We'd been hearing turkeys for a couple of weeks, and Scott had been looking for them for as long. Of course, he was at work one day and I happened to look outside and there were about 30 turkeys in the backyard! Livi just loved looking at them, but we haven't seen any since!!!
